Interesting fact on pipes freezing. Pipes freeze where they are coldest, but the freezing does not break the pipe at that spot. The freezing water applies pressure on the remaining water in the pipe against a closed valve or check valve. When this happens the pipe is expanded in its weekest spot in that section of closed space. This is why sill cocks always break on the inside of the rim joist, near the threads/cweat connection end. It is also why leaving things running can prevent cracked pipes. If things do freeze, open the faucet asap to limit dammage. This might not help , but it is interesting. Good fortune Old, you and your family are strong, and a fine part of this extended group. Welcome back to the forum. JimN
