Magman, or other Magneto experts

A month or so ago I converted my M to 12 volt (per BobM's most excellent schematics). I put the loader back on and can't use the crank anymore... Last night I was trying to figure out why the alternator isn't charging, and while confirming that I had wired the DPDT switch correctly I touched the mag ground wire to a hot terminal momentarily. Now the darn tractor won't start. Could I have fried something in the magneto? It's an American Bosch MJH 4C301. How can I test the coils and condensor? It was too dark to start pulling the cap to check points. I did try to see if there was spark at the plug wire, but couldn't tell, too long a reach from the starter button to the plug wire. Tonight I'll pull the plugs to make sure they're good (it has a bad habit of fouling the plugs really bad).
