Sounds like an A, AV, Super A or a Cub.

Look for a serial number plate on the inside of the left-hand seat bracket. Post the sreial number and the prefix (Like "FAA").

If it has factory hydraulics, it's likely a Super A.

If it's a Cub, the serial number plate is on the right-hand side of the engine, very close to where the steering column goes in to the steering box and the prefix will be something like "F-CUB"

A picture would tell the tale fairly quickly.
