The dipstick under the gas tank is for the hydraulic system, which pumps all the time the clutch is out. Use 30 weight non-detergent oil, or Hy-Tran from CaseNewHolland, or your favorite hydraulic oil.

If you leave it dry and the shaft underneath is connected, you will destroy the pump.

As with others, oil level is the petcocks, I always fill mine slowly until it comes out the top one.
