Voltage/Current drain...

Hello again, I asked the question last night about the current drain on my Super C. I tested it as one reader recommended, yes I am showing 12+ volts on the multimeter plus.....the alternator is extremely hot to the touch after running the tractor for 5 minutes or so. Would this indicate bad diodes in the alternator? Or....improper wiring job?? Thanks again, Russ
