if the ring gear on the flywheel is getting worn you can heat the gear with a torch to remove it and then flip it over if the back side of the gear is still good. run the torch around the ring gear to heat it evenly, dont get it cherry red, just warm it up, the gear will expand enough to slide off, i set the flywheel upside down so the gear will drop down. wire brush the flywheel to get the rust off, turn it up, reheat the gear and let it drop back into place. you may need to tap it a little, i use a brass hammer so you dont chip the gears.
