I understand your dilema. I was a JD guy all my life as was my Dad. I ran a M on a baler but that was about it. A few years ago a retired farmer said he wanted to sell his old tractor, it was stuck as the muffler was bad and it was outside. He thought it was a Super M. I asked how much, not interested myself but in case I found someone who was, and he said $100. It had after market 3 point also. Turned out to be a SMTA. Bought it to part out but then just had to get it running and then running better and , well you know the rest. TA was out on the low side when I got it and I ran it that way for a while, had to split it to replace the PTO disconnect and decided to to TA also. I put in rebuilt ramp and rollers as mentioned below and seals, TA clutch was ok and it is great to have TA working. I have live hydraulics and live PTO. Hydraulic pump is in front of distributor on right side, should have hydro tank under the rear of the gas tank and may have a "christmas tree" valve for 2 way hydraulics. As mentioned PTO if live will have "bubble" on back and a long lever on the right side. TA lever is on left and shorter. Rather complicated to adjust clutch and TA but when done is great. I did the TA rebuild for less than $200 but labor was all mine. They are a nice tractor and guess you could paint it green if you want.

The garden was already sprouting when we hooked up the mid-mount shovel cultivators to the Pony. The seed bed was soft enough that the rear end would spin and slowly work its way to the downhill side of the gardens slight incline. From this, we learned our lesson sinc
