My 806 just recently started not wanting to go into or stay in high gear. It seems to try to go in but just isn't getting all the way there . When I put in high and let the clutch out it just grinds and once in a while it will move. I hope it is just linkage. I researched the archives and it looks like linkage trouble usually affects reverse unless someone tried to adjust the problem out of reverse than it could affect high on the other end. Am I right? All I want to know really is when I pull the top platform off what do I need to be careful of and watch for. I've seen comments about catching springs and a part that could fall into the transmission. Can I get to all the internal linkage from the platform? The guy I bought this tractor from a year or so ago said he replaced the shifter fork so that might be when the linkage would have been adjusted. Am I looking at any expensive replacement parts? I guess I had more questions than I thought. Harlen
