I got a tractor stuck today, and took the 1948 H down and hooked onto it. The tractor couldn't pull it out, and I would say the motor must have got some pretty good jars, because as I was attempting pulling, the front end popping and banging back down in the process, the motor suddenly revved like crazy, and I hit the kill switch to keep it from blowing up. Something happened, and I am guessing it must be in the goverener?. It doesn't matter where I position the throttle, it just revvs like I never would have dreamed an H could rev. The throttle lever I belive feels different now than it did, there is less tension on the lever, but it is still all hooked up and I can't see anything wrong with it from the outside of the engine. I started the tractor a couple of times, but I couldn't do much of anything with it, I had to keep disrupting the ignition to keep it from over revving to like 5,000 RPMS. Where should I start looking for the problem?, I am only guessing that something inside the goverener housing must have fell apart? or a broken spring in there?.
