Haybaler: He should have always used Hy tran, been the recomended oil since almost the year the tractor was built. Hy tran came a bit behind the 400, thus the manual does not call for hy tran. There was a notice to all 300 and 400 owners before production ended in 1956, telling owners of the change to hy tran. I clearly remember as my dad got one. I doubt if that is the current problem, sounds like the pump gave up.
