They make a ball bearing throwout bearing for the Cub, but I have read where itdfoesn't work as well as the original. The original works good if kept greased and you don't "ride" the clutch or hold the pedal down for long periods. The shift lever does wear like the others, and someone had an article on how to rebuild them, I believe it wason the Cub forum. Go to farmal cub web site. You need to log in but they have a lot of info on the Cub there.
