What"s the best head gasket sealer to use, good quality aluminum paint or copper spray-a-gasket? I am replacing the head gasket on a 460 diesel and have been told to also use a good quality aluminum paint on both surfaces (let dry some until tacky). I also have found a spray copper spray gasket that is a high temp sealant. It says it will fill minor irregularities and prevent hot spots. It says to apply it to both sides of the gasket, flange surfaces, threaded fittings, etc. Will either work fine? I am having some trouble finding good quality aluminum paint. The aluminum paint I have found is really just high-temp paint that is the color of aluminum (so they tell me). I have had the head machined and it is ready to go back on. Just need to decide what to use to seal it in addition to the regular gasket. Thanks.
