Best way I found to keep the kids "amused" was to give them a salt shaker and send them out in the yard. Told them if you sprinkle salt on a bird's tail you could catch the bird. Lots of brown spots in the yard, but no bird for supper. Funny thing is we didn't have rabbit eggs for breakfast that I can remember either.
