I know this is a off the wall question but some of the people here are the smartest people I have never met. LOL Is there any way for a person like my self to tell the difference between Gold and Pirites. My Gramp brought me back a crubly rock for my birthday back in the 60s when he visited CA. He did go on a gold mining expedition tour when he was there. He has been dead for years now and I crumbled the stone. I have watched the gold mining shows on the outdoor channel and they say to look for black soot I believe and there is a lot of it here. The only thing I know is gold is yellow dull in color not shinny. ANY IDEAS??????? JON
