The steering gear boxes in these old tractors are so apt to leak, that most of us have gone to a grease since it will not leak out like 90 wt. But, you can get a grease that is too thick and won't lube the parts like it should. The best grease I have found for both old tractor and old car is cornhead grease. Someone on this site put me onto it. While it is a grease, it is a very "wet" grease, which is what you need in a steering box so that it will "mush around" as you turn the wheel back and forth during operation. You can get cornhead grease at most tractor dealerships. mike
