I would be looken at a blockage in the fuel tank unless the filters have not been changed in a coons age. It realy sounds like something is getting over the inlet in the fuel tank , and if like normal the tank is full and ya can mot see the bottom. Over the years i have found BEES WASPS paper towels rags wood pices of plastic and a ball bearing just the perfect size to cover the inlet . So first i would check fuel flow and the fuel cap for propper venting then work my way on down before i started pullong a pump off . Now if everything checks out on fuel flow then i would pull the timming window off the pump and see if ya have stuff that looks like coffee grounds . If ya find them then it is time for a pump rebuild .
