I rebuilt mine, the gears had worn into the cover quite badly. I took the cover off, put it on a surface grinder to grind it flat. Headspace has a big effect of pressure. The gears, due to pressure, will always wear into the cover. Then I put it back, I took out all the shims, because I measured the gear length and it was short. I ground down the body untill I had .001 clearance between the gears and the cover. I Have had excellent pressure. It has been 10 years, but I don't remember the pressure relief valve?
