M carburetor high speed adjust

Was out fiddling with the M carb this afternoon. Noticed that closing the high speed screw would stall the engine (as expected) but backing it out and even removing it had no effect. Tractor seems to make good power and starts well by hand. (Though, my only reference is a Cub and anything makes good power compared to a Cub.) High speed adjust is set to about 4 1/4 turns out. I'm not too sure about this one. Thanks, Chris B.
