I had my ol' 706 on a flowrater last winter and she tested up to specs with 6500 hours on the clock. I know the pump's have never been touched on it. I think it has to do with the maintance they have had in their lifetime. If you think your pump is getting weak have it flowrated before you start spending money. I remember that the 966 was going to need a rear end overhaul last fall but then you put some hours on it and it self corrected. Could you have a plugging filter from the gear rust? Just a thought.
