Dwell should be about 60 degrees for a 4 cylinder. Dwell for an engine theoretically is 360 / # of cyliders times 2/3. Dwell time (points closed) should be 2 times as long as points open time.
IE: 360 /4 x 2/3 = 60, 360 / 6 x 2/3 = 40, 360 / 8 x 2/3 = 30.
