Thanks to Jim N and Hayfarmer my post at 9 CDT was quickly answered and the governor problem and dwell tach were operating as prescribed by noon. Problem was the two adjusting screws (speed and idle stop) were way off the marks. Now "Emma" as in "emma going to make it " is purring like a kitten at idle ( 425 rpm)and roaring like a lion at high speed. 1600 rpm no load). Oil was good (all over the floor) and the bell crank right on the money. Now the dwell. Can't find a spec for this anywhere. It looks like I have about 60 degrees. Anyone got a setting and a reference book? Never did like the feeler gage method. Gordo Gordo
