I read all the replies first of all and all are good comments. What I do on my conversions is take the original 6 volt generator into Stans Elec. in Indianapolis and they convert it to 12 volt and mount a new Delco voltage regulator on top of the generator. It looks like the 6 volt system but I don't have to spend the extra money for a 6 volt battery. They are not cheap. Right now all my Hs are still positive ground. On the coil resistor, I mount it on the steering support post behind the engine (where the oil gauge line is bolted) so it is out of site and out of the weather. I just try to find a middle road between purist and practical.
