If the filter(s) are clean, and the oil is of the correct type, and clean, I suspect you have internal linkage or adjustment problems in the three-point. Also, check for leaks in the pump suction line and connections, perhaps as well as the pump shaft seal, and possible pump wear. Does the tractor have remote hydraulics, in addition to the hitch? I have a 424, and the hitch has always worked well, but several folks have posted on here about tough problems with the hitch controls. It would be wise to check the pump output flow and pressure with a Flo-Rater, or equivalent before condemning the hitch mechanism. If you tear into it, I would recommend having the correct IH Blue Ribbon Service Manual for the 3-point, as it is WAY more detailed than the I&T manual. If you need the extra help of the genuine manual, email me. I have an extra copy. (If I can find it!)

The answer to our needs materialized in the form of a '44 Farmall A, complete with cultivators, discs, single plow, a 5ft.Woods belly mower and one, mounted spare 9.00x24 rear wheel.
