Ya might want to pull the oil pickup and clean out the screen too . If it's like an M it's a floating pickup and it needs to be airtight on top so it floats . My M was so full of sludge it took 15 minutes in a parts washer to get it clean . Doing what CNKS suggests sounds like the way I SHOULD have done it but all I did was pull the pan and scrape about 2" of sludge out of the bottom . While you're in there be sure and yank on all the rods to see if any have bad bearings and look close at the cylinder walls . ...Randy
