Hydraulic oil vs. 30W

Question. I'm running hydraulic oil in my two Farmall M's. Both are 1940 with M+W live pumps. Is if possible to run 30 weight oil in these 66 year old pumps and take up some of the slack that might be in the gears or not. Seems like when the oil gets hot it don't want to lift quite as well as it does when it is just warm. Just a thought for you hydraulic gurus out there. Thanks, Harley
