Okay, I thought I had found the perfect tractor that I've been looking for. A 656D with a quick attach loader. The price quoted was $4,200 + $1,200 shipping = $5,400 which seems like a good deal to me. A little rough and a long way from me but I was pretty excited. I really doubt I will be using it for loader work very much so I don't think I want a hydro. That's one reason the quick attach loader is so appealing to me. I've researched the 656's a few times and they seem to get overall good reviews. I've got a local contact there that is going to help me get it inspected as well. Here's a picture of it: Well, after posting it in the Tractor Talk forum and in the Red Power Magazine forums a lot of folks are saying that the 656 isn't that good of a tractor with the 282 engine and the shifter. They are saying I need a 756 instead. Well of course the 756 is a better tractor but is it worth another 50% or more over the price of the 656? I'm happy with the shifter on my M so is the 656 shifter that bad or is it just that some of the newer ones are alot better? Is the 282 engine really that bad? I'm really thinking this is the tractor I've been looking for. Just a good all around tractor to use on my 42 acres. I'm not a farmer, just a city kid living in the country. Thanks for any input. Nathan
