Larry one thing you could try is to empty the oil cup and replace it. Then remove the air intake cap and fill the element a solvent like kerosine so you have about 3-4 times as much solvet as you would have oil in the cup without overflowing into the carb. It will probably leak out around the oil cup flang but it might stay up in the element long enough to soak and clean the mesh.
