When they were new, they worked pretty well. But rust, corrosion and deteriorating rubber parts made them loose power pretty quickly. With everything in pretty good shape, they had pretty good power. It would probably lift the plow with someone standing on it, but not with much margin. If the diverter valve on the manifold is in decent shape, it will stall the engine (even at full throttle).

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
