I checked the gear numbers and they are identical for both sets. The extra length is right at the pto engagement end. Everything else lines up exactly the same when I have the two shafts side by side. The oil channels towards the top of the housing are what snag the constant mesh gear. The serial number is not to be found on it but according to the style PTO it had it would make it an early one. The part number on the transmission casting is the same as the in the parts book. Any help would be great...
