Yes, you should definetly have a water filter on it, but $201? You got screwed. Your dealer should have had a filter base for the water filter and two fittings w/shut-off valves to screw into the base and attach 5/8" heater hose for less than $50. Did this to our 826 a couple years ago, was taking the cab off, so I just ran the heater hoses to the filter base. Made a bracket to bolt the water filter base to, and bolted the other end of the bracket to the top of the add-on M&W oil filter base that is on most of those turbo'ed 826's.
