Battery Cable size for a C

I have a 1948 Farmall C that has a (worn out)12V
alternator on it but the ingnition is still 6V.
I"m going to rewire the whole thing to 12V neg ground.
My question concerns battery cable size.Is 2ga
sufficiant for a 12v neg ground system or should I go with "0" gauge? the cable are not very long on a C
