They are undersized bearings .002 on the shell is how much they are smaller in I.D. than original. Putting standard bearings in the engine will be wrong. Measure the crank journals (rods and mains)in 4 or more directions across diameter, and across width of journal with a micrometer that is calibrated to within .0005". The size of the journal drives the selection of bearing shell. All ground/polished cranks are undersize from stock unless welded up and reground. JimN
