Oh boy. Kinda wishing I would have just got that used combine engine for $500 now. My quick $700 sleeve and piston job will soon be surpasing $2000 I suspect. Funny how a motor can sound so good and turn out sooooo bad. Not ever ever ever going to buy another tractor with a strait pipe on it. Too dang loud to hear properly. I know Hugh..... I know. Any way just got the head back from the shop. That check hurt $580, but he did a good job all new now. I measured that #5 rod jornal in 3 spots 2.366, 2.344 and 2.349 Yikes could go sleding on that hill. Could just throw a .30 under bearing in it, but figure that would give way about the 3rd round with the hay bine. Guess I will pull it out this weekend. Got a price with out any build up 1st af about $300 for a grind. Need a better way. Any ideas?
