Mike, The serial # tag is on the steering casting just below the radiator and behind the steering shaft. There are casting dates on all the large castings. final drive, Torque tube, and engine casting. Also there should be an engine serial# on the engine block just below the intake manifold. on a machined serface it is hard to find if the engine has been painted over a few times.It will not corrispond to the Tractor serial as IH used the engines for a Variety of applications
