If it is a pushrod, and the valve is still being opened just a little you could burn the head off of it. Pulling the Valva cover to assess the reality of the problem is sure money ahead. Pushrods fixed on site are 500 times cheaper than pulling the head at home to do a valve job. What leads you to believe it is a pushrod. They are usually bent because of some other issue (stuck valve, hard parts loose in the cylinder, or in some engines valve timing causing pistons to smack valves.
