I'll add my 2 cents here. There is no seal on these fan hubs. The hub is designed so that centrifugal force circulates the oil and also keeps it from coming out around the shaft. A little leakage --enough to cause dust film-- is normal. Don't put in too much oil. When you took the hub apart, you should have noticed a little "stand pipe" at the oil fill screw opening. Proper procedure is to turn hub so the fill screw is on the side. Take an oil can and fill the hub until oil runs out. Then turn the opening to the bottom and let excess oil drain out. Oil will then be to level of the little stand pipe. Insert the screw in the fill hole and you are good to go. There is supposed to be a little o ring gasket under the screw head.
