Michael: I wouldn't be to concerned about the duals unless they had chloride or wheel weights. I ran my 1066 the first 1,000 hours single wheels with chloride. After that it had duals with no weight added. Slipping and catching was far worse with single wheels weighted. In a field situation the duals give such uniform traction, you don't get those surge loads from slipping. I know of several of these tractors well over 20,000 hours and had duals since new. Never been apart either. I'll bet most gear box problems in these tractors was caused from neglect rather than workload. Most folks don't know this but 1066 and 1466 with duals weighted were not to be used for a maximum pull in the 3 lowest gears
