On the M&W with cable ,the cable should go in at the center housing between engine and trans and then on into trans through a special hollow bolt that bolts center housing to trans. Don't know the
RPM of pto on high side but its to fast for safe operation of some things at wide open throttle.
Also hydraulic belley pump is speeded up in high range.
