Adjusting PTO on 300u

On my 300u the PTO stops when under load. I have adjusted the bands as per the IT manual, but had to guess at punch mark on the quadrant.
When I asked, the guys on this site were pretty unanimous that the problem was the bands. When I move the operating lever to the off position the PTO does stop, in the run position is turns but stops when under heavy load.
Do I just adjust just one band now and if so which band do I try, the front (toward the front of the tractor) or the back? And, do I turn the screw in or out? and how much do I turn it?
I need that baby working so I am hoping it is the bands and I can get it, otherwise may have CROW for Thanksgiving.
