Back in mid fortys Dad had just bought new H and back then we ran straight water and drained in cold weather. One November day we ran all day in short sleeve weather and put tractor up without draining. Next morning temperature was in low teens (did not have up to date weather forecasts back then) and tractor was frozen solid. Pulled in heated garage and thawed it out and only damage was leaking gasket on side plate.

Have learned from years of experience with RVs that if temperature is warm during day (60 or better) you will have no damage if temperature drops well below freezing at night. if temperature hovers around freezing during day and drops well below freezing at night there is good chance of damage.
