Clutch adjustment

I have a 400 Farmall that the clutch is not releasing good and need more adjustment. I have the linkage between the pedal and the clutch arm adjusted with almost all the free travel out and you still have trouble getting it into gear. The pressure plate fingers have adjustments on them near the pivot point (not where the touch the throw out bearing). Would adjusting the fingers change the geometry and make the pressure plate release the clutch plate any more? I just bought this tractor and do not know the history.
