My guess is it won't hurt anything. The plate is probably the Lift-All hydraulic pump. It is inside this location. It can be removed easily, however there are mechanical connections hydraulic fittings, and a lever to disconnect and it does take some effort, and is heavy enough to use a floor jack. The main thing to tell you is to get a manual. Here to the left, or Ebay the best verbal description is less than the pictures and procedures in the books. Good luck, JimN
