Sounds like it may have jumped time. Pull No1 sparkplug near the radiator and bring No1 piston up on the compression stroke to TDC. It would be better to hand crank the engine when doing this.
Once you're at TDC check your rotor to see where it's pointing. Should be at No1. Check that distributor cap for any cracks. Hal
