I hava a 1949 MD and bought the parts manual. In the parts manual it says the generator is a Delco-Remy 1101726 12 volt part # 51 602 D. That first number should be on the name plate unless it was replaced with a rebuilt one recently as they take the nameplates off all the recent ones I have bought at Case IH (irritates me to the point where I no longer get rebuilt generators, but take them to a rebuild shop).
