Before you try anything else make sure the madison kipps oiler is functioning on all 6 ports. Fill it up and then turn the hand crank 50-100 times to watch the oil drip from the tubes and prelube all the critical bearings. There are alot of grease cups in different locations on that engine and transmission that will need a turn or 2 of grease. Give the rocker arms and lifters a shot of oil. Next you will need to prime the mixer with fuel. There is a eccentric on a rod from the camshaft to the Fuel pump and oiler, There is a lever attached to this, Lift the rod up from the lever. You can now manualy cycle the fuel pump and fill the mixer. I would set the mixture screw at 1/2 turn from shut. Now push the mag lever far forward that will retard the magneto. The cylinders have petcocks located on the bottom that will need to be opened. There is a lever for that located by the mag lever. Now prime the cylinders with a healthy shot of gas. The hole is located on the top of the intake right above the mixer. I would not use the hand crank. You can turn the engine with the flywheel. The impule on the mag will need the lever lifted so that the mag clicks. Pull the engine over slow till it is close to clicking the impulse. Now if you are living right it should fire when pulled on over and the mag clicks. Be very carefull to not let this kick you, expecially if you use the hand crank. After it fires you control the speed of the governer by turning the hand crank down to slow it down. Close the petcocks. Advance the timing and enjoy. I shut mine off with the mixer screw. Give me a E-mail if you need anything!
