Original Seat for 1946 M Farmall

When my father bought his 1946 M about 25 years ago, it had an aftermarket seat that I now want to replace. I see some M's with a seat which has a big spring directly underneath the seat pan, then a shock absorber type connection going toward the front mount. On other M's, I see a different seat that has a spring up front where it bolts to the tractor, then a curved support arching up to the seat, with what looks like a pretty small tool storage thing (not a box) on the support. I'm not sure if both were used on M's or what. Does anyone know what is correct for a 1946 M?
