James: My 48 Cub Ellie-Mae has that kind of nut - kind of thin on one side. It is an okay fix for the time being, but it is NOT a permanent fix. If you really want to do it right - use the helicoil option. I know that is what I intend to do to all 3 of my Cub carbs... Check out the Maintenance Tips and Techniques section of the Cub Manual Server at www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/index.html. There are some good articles by "Lurker" Carl Kurnas on Carbs.. plus tons of other stuff..
