Farmall Cub - carb fix?

The threads for one of the mounting studs on the mounting flange (nearest the inlet) have stripped out and I need a way to secure the stud. Thought about getting a longer stud and putting a nut on the end (under the flange), but there is not enough clearance there to allow installing a nut. I tried JB Weld, but it is not strong enough. I'd really rather not drill and tap up to next size if it can be avoided. I'm hoping someone here can offer some good ideas on how to fix it...............James
