My 574 has done the same thing for years. The reason that the PTO use relates to the hydraulic pressure light is that the independent PTO is hydraulically acuated. Mine will start flickering the light on dimly after an hour or so of steady PTO work in hot weather and will continue until it pretty well remains lit. When it does this, I can detect no diminished power in the hydraulic system. At first I changed the HyTran fluid and the filter with no change in the situation. My mechanic and I theorize it is just the pressure switch weakening with time and cycles of heat and pressure. I normally run the PTO at a slightly reduced speed (about 1700 RPM) and usually don't run mine more than about 3 hrs continuously. Its been doing the same thing for years now. I've threatened to go get a new switch and change it out. It appears in the shop manual to be located on top of the transmission just below the front of the seat.
