Compression ratio for gas was 5.9:1
for gas-distillate 4.75:1 and for kerosene 4.5:1.
That starts you out in the hole for pulling. The gas had about three more horse power at the drawbar. With the kerosene manifold and buring gas, you are vaporizing the gas way too much and getting less into the cylinders. At least that was the way it was explained to me [admittedly about 25 years ago]
